I read that New Yorker article with my jaw on the floor. The sheer number of people who told the guy he was building a death trap! And apparently each warning only made him more convinced that he was An Innovator (TM) and they were just boring old fuddy-duddies trying to get in the way of Innovation! So attached to his image of himself as The Smartest Guy in the Room that he was unable to process any negative feedback whatsoever.
