See, I bounced hard off A Clockwork Orange because of the same issue: I can appreciate that kind of linguistic cleverness for a few pages, but after that it really starts to grate on me. I guess my prose “palate” just prefers milder flavours - anything too assertive tends to put me off.
Thanks for the rec! I might start with one of the short stories next time I feel compelled to give PKD a go. (I haven’t read Androids either, so sad fake-nerd fistbump for that, lol.)
